There are moments in history that only come around once in our lifetime.
Today, America celebrates her 250th birthday, and I wanted to mark the occasion in a way that feels deeply personal.
As a scrapbooker, I believe history isn’t only found in museums or history books. It’s found in our family traditions, hometown celebrations, handwritten journaling, and the everyday moments that tell our story.
That’s why today I’m beginning a year-long scrapbook project I’ve been dreaming about.
America at 250.
Over the next year, I’ll be documenting what this historic milestone looks like through the eyes of one family living in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

Why This Album Matters
Rather than creating one patriotic scrapbook page, I wanted to create something much bigger.
This album will become a time capsule.
It will tell the story of:
- Fourth of July celebrations
- Fredericksburg traditions
- Texas Hill Country landmarks
- Family memories
- Community events
- Faith
- Gratitude
- The everyday moments that future generations may one day treasure.
My hope is that years from now, someone can open this album and see what life looked like during America’s 250th birthday.

Creating the Title Page
For my album cover, I chose a classic Americana color palette featuring:
- Crumb Cake
- Early Espresso
- Cherry Cobbler
- White Willow
- Night of Navy
- Peaceful Pine
I also incorporated several Stampin’ Up! products:
- Heirloom Boutique Bundle
- Swirled Designs Dies {Retired}
- Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers
To make the title extra special, I designed and cut the “America 250” title with my Cricut, creating a custom centerpiece worthy of this historic celebration.
One detail you may notice…
The photo mats are intentionally empty.
That’s because today’s memories haven’t been documented yet.
They’re waiting to be added after our Fourth of July celebration.

Come Along for the Journey
This is only the beginning.
Throughout the coming year, I’ll be sharing scrapbook layouts inspired by our celebrations here in Fredericksburg and throughout the Texas Hill Country.
If you’ve ever wanted to preserve your family’s story in a meaningful way, I hope you’ll join me.
Whether you document your hometown, your traditions, or simply the people you love most, remember this:
History is made one memory at a time.
Thank you for following along as this new adventure begins.
I can’t wait to see where this story leads over the next year.
❤️ Happy 250th Birthday, America!
Creating with Jesus, crafting with joy,
Pamela
